EditorLayout Controls

Alignment

Controls how the layout block sits on the page or spread.

Alignment tells the layout block where to sit inside the space left by the current padding.

Use it after gap and padding feel right, but the composition still wants to sit higher, lower, closer to the center, or toward one side.

Use it when you want to anchor the composition toward:

  • the center
  • an edge
  • one side of the page or spread

The important part is what alignment does not do: it does not change photo order, and it does not crop or resize the photos. It changes placement.

In the current editor UI, alignment lives under the scale section, but the mental model is separate:

  • gap changes the air between photos
  • padding changes the border near the edge
  • alignment changes where the whole block lands inside that padded area
