Arrange your album from the keyboard
Move a photo, reflow the layout around it, fly between spreads, and shuffle smart layouts. The editor now answers to your arrow keys, and in Per Page mode it works one page at a time.
June 2026
Your hands never have to leave the keyboard. Select a photo and the arrow keys move it or rearrange the layout around it. Select nothing and the same keys fly you between spreads and shuffle through smart layouts. The whole editor is one keystroke away.
And the newest piece: in Per Page mode, the selected-photo gestures now aim at a single page, so you can shape a layflat spread one side at a time.
With a photo selected
Arrow keys move it. Press an arrow and the photo slides one step that way. Keep going and it reaches the edge, then breaks out into its own band, a full-height column or a full-width row. The opposite arrow walks it back, and every press is one clean undo.
Shift + arrow reflows around it. Hold Shift and press an arrow to rearrange into a richer layout, a 2x2, a 1,1,2, a hero, or columns, with your photo anchored to the side you pressed. Press the same direction again to cycle the options until one clicks.
With nothing selected
Left and Right fly between spreads. Tab through your album spread by spread, no spread bar required.
Up and Down shuffle the layout. Each press deals a fresh take on the current spread, heroes, columns, mixed rows, grids, drawn from the Smart Layout engine. Keep tapping until one feels right.
Nothing selected yet? Press Tab to grab the next photo, Shift + Tab for the previous.
Now it goes per page
This is what landed in this release. Switch a spread to Per Page and the selected-photo gestures aim at one page. Move a photo and it travels inside its own page. Shift and arrow rearranges just that page, with your photo anchored to the side you pressed. The other page does not move, and nothing ever crosses the spine.
In Per Page mode every move stays inside the page that holds your selected photo, so the left and right pages stay completely independent. Shape one, leave the other untouched, and the fold across the middle stays clean.
Send a photo across the spine, or trade the whole pages
Sometimes a photo simply belongs on the other side. In Per Page mode, select it and press M to send it to the other page. It leaves the page it was on, lands on the other one, and both pages re-solve around the change. Press M again to send it back.
Need to flip the whole layflat? Press S and the two pages swap places, left becomes right and right becomes left, in one move.
Both gestures also have buttons. Look right next to the Per Page / Spread toggle in the top bar: the arrow button runs the same command as M for the selected photo, and the swap button runs the same command as S for the whole spread. They only show up in Per Page mode, because that is the only place crossing the spine makes sense.
Try it in four keystrokes
Open an album and click a photo, or press Tab to grab the first one.
Press an arrow to move it, or Shift + arrow to reflow the layout around it.
Click empty space to deselect, then use Left and Right to change spreads and Up and Down to shuffle layouts.
Switch a spread to Per Page and run the selected-photo gestures again, now one page at a time.
No cropping, no reshaped photos, just your layout at the speed you can press a key. It lives on the desktop keyboard, for the moments your hands are already there.
