Even pages, without the squint
Matching the photo height across a layflat spread used to be a guessing game. Now the canvas guides you there and snaps it even.
June 2026
You know the move. You are in Per Page (Layflat) mode, scaling the right page so its photos sit at the same height as the left, and you are squinting at the screen trying to decide whether “close enough” is actually close enough.
That guesswork is gone now. When you scale a page on a layflat spread, guide lines appear where the neighbor page's photos start and stop. Drag toward even, the lines brighten, and release inside the sweet spot to snap both pages into line.
Before
- Eyeball the height, page to page
- Nudge, check, nudge again
- Live with "close enough"
- Notice it was off after export. Of course.
After
- Lines show you exactly where even is
- They glow as you get close
- Release and it snaps clean
- Both pages match across the gutter. Done.
How it works
Open a layflat album and switch a spread to Per Page (Layflat).
Grab a page's scale slider and start dragging. As the two pages get close, guide lines fade in on the neighbor page.
Keep going. The lines brighten the moment you enter snapping range.
Let go. If you are close enough, the page snaps to match with a quick pulse. If not, nothing gets forced.
The lines sit on the page next door, not the one you are dragging, so what you are really lining up is the two pages against each other. That is the whole point of a layflat spread: one clean, continuous look across the fold.
What we did not do
We did not crop anything to make the math easier. The snap moves the scale, not the edges of your photos.
We also did not make it loud. The guides stay hidden until they matter, then show up exactly when they can help.
Small feature. Big difference when you are trying to make a spread feel clean in one move instead of five.
Arrange your album from the keyboard
Move a photo, reflow the layout around it, fly between spreads, and shuffle smart layouts. The editor now answers to your arrow keys, and in Per Page mode it works one page at a time.
